About Iodine Testing
Consider the possibility of Iodine insufficiency as a possible contributor to the following conditions.
- Low Energy - Easy Weight Gain - Low Thyroid - Diabetes - Hypertension | - Arrhythmias - PCOS - Estrogen Dominance - Breast Cancer Risk
|
Identify and treating an iodine deficiency may resolve these conditions. In order to determine the daily amount of essential iodine required for whole body sufficiency, an Iodine Loading Test must be performed. This test is based on the premise that the more iodine-deficient the body is, the more ingested iodine is retained, and the less is excreted in the urine.
An Iodine loading Test will:
- Assess for insufficiency and determine treatment protocol.
- Remove potential for harm from supplementing incorrectly.
- Determine when iodine sufficiency is reached and treatment is complete.

The Test Kit The three basic steps of the test are as follows:
1.) Collection of an initial urine sample before the ingestion of iodine in order to establish a baseline level in the container provided.
2.) The ingestion of iodine/iodide tablets (generally 50 mg) from the tablets provided.
3.) Collection of subsequent urine voids for the next 24 hours in the container provided. The iodine in both samples is then measured and a percentage reflecting the "spill" of iodine is calculated. The urine samples are packaged in the prepaid mailer box provided and mailed by post. Results can be expected within 10 days to 2 weeks by email.
This simple test can prove to be profoundly useful in determining iodine deficiency.
